Frequently Asked Questions

What areas does Mane Dame serve?

Serving the Boston and Boston metro west areas, including Wellesley, Weston, Newton, Natick, Brookline, Charlestown, Cambridge, Somerville, Winchester and Lexington areas and surrounding towns.

If your location is beyond my typical 50 mile travel radius, I reserve the right to charge a nominal transportation fee and will invoice you for the cost of any tolls, tickets or passes.

What services does Mane Dame offer?

I provide a range of hair styling services, such as hair, coloring, treatments, and styling for special events. While many clients who embrace mobile hair services prefer it over traditional salon visits, some services are best done in a salon. I am committed to delivering the best experience for my clients. If I believe I cannot ensure the same quality of service or outcome in a mobile environment, I reserve the right to decline service at any time.

What are Jenn's qualifications?

I am an experienced, thoughtful career cosmetologist with almost 20 years experience in the beauty industry. Licensed in 2004, I consider hair as an artist does, with patience and care. I tend to approach hairdressing in a natural, intuitive way with a focus on design. In my salon life, I've been an in-house brand ambassador for Kerastase Paris and for Bumble and bumble. I'm a certified hair extension artist for Easihair Pro and I was briefly an artistic educator for Matrix. How do we shampoo my hair?

Mobile color visits do require timely access to the sink or faucet of your choice.

The best options are usually your kitchen sink, bathtub faucet or alternatively, you can hop in the shower.

At the sink; instead of leaning backwards, you’ll lean forward into the sink to rest comfortably on your forearms with your face protected. I'll do the rest.

How much does Mane Dame charge for services?

I offer an a la' carte menu of services, available on my Pricing page or here

What forms of payment does Mane Dame accept?

I accept all major credit cards, Venmo, Cashapp, Zelle or cash.

What products does Mane Dame use?

Only the highest performing products earn a permanent spot in my mobile kit. I use Loreal Professional hair color lines, including Majirel, INOA, Richesse and Dia Light. I also use Goldwell, Redken, Wella, ProRituals, Matrix and Logics hair color, depending.  For styling products, my beloved Kerastase favorites are still with me and there are exciting developments from innovative new companies like K-18, Briogeo and IGK. I use Easihair Pro human hair extensions, along with the best professional tools available.

Stay tuned for my Favorites shop, coming soon!

What should I do to prepare for the appointment?

Nothing, except decide which room you'd like to temporarily turn into a salon. I bring it all to you and then I clean it all up. You don't need to provide any materials or supplies for the services, including towels, hair products, extension cords or trays. I even have a mini-vacuum in my kit too, just to make sure I leave as little trace behind as possible.

Can Mane Dame accommodate groups?

At this time, I can accommodate two clients per household, per visit.

Does Mane Dame offer gift certificates?

Yes! Email me directly at Jenn@manedame.com, and watch your inbox for exclusive offers, tips and tricks and hair-spiration to improve your at-home hair game.
